Modelmaking is integral to Materia´s process. Materia means "matter", and matter implies tangibility and making. Modelmaking embodies the essence of building. It is a potent early spark of how architecture can create a sensory experience through its assembly and its existence in light. It is where intention is tested and exploration widens. In our studio, models also become and aid in communicating atmosphere to our clients, setting stage for constructive strategies with contractors and builders.
