Practice Statement

At Park, we believe that the contemporary architectural shift isn't a choice between the digital and the physical, but a mastery of their synergy. For us, making matters because it represents a physical resistance to the screen's abstract nature. In an era of ultra-realistic 3D visualization and AI, the physical model remains our most honest instrument for material and formal experimentation. Models are an essential design tool; this belief is at the core of Fab: our professional workshop for model making, where technological innovation meets traditional craftsmanship. Integrated within the studio, Fab acts as a hub of ideas where our multidisciplinary research group, Park Plus, converges in a constant feedback loop between all the Plus units: Design Technology, Materials, Research, and Facades Design. By integrating design software with digital fabrication—such as 3D printing, CNC milling, and laser cutting—we exert precise control over project parameters from the earliest conceptual stages to the final version of the project. This allows us to test ideas and iterate rapidly, using the model to visualize the structural viability and aesthetic coherence of complex geometries and uncovering unpredictable, innovative outcomes that only emerge when digital precision meets tactile reality. Fab supports design across all scales, from architectural models exploring volumes to rapid prototyping for product design and construction details. This space for exploration encourages an experimental and creative approach, further supported by a dedicated workshop program that provides ongoing training and hands-on exploration for our architects. Ultimately, the physical model functions as a vital bridge between conceptual design and storytelling, carrying an emotional resonance that speaks a universal language, moving beyond digital pixels to capture and convey the identity of a project.
